Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Pool Beneath Canyon Walls by William Wendt was auctioned at Bonhams in April this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 21,675.00 (€ 19,633.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Wendt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Silence Of Night in June 2016 with an auction result of USD 286,000.00 (€ 259,245.83).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A Pool Beneath Canyon Walls von William Wendt kam im April diesen Jahres bei Bonhams zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 21.675,00 (€ 19.633,15) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Wendt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Silence Of Night im Juni 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 286.000,00 (€ 259.245,83).
