Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2016 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, Maritime Art, Sporting & Wildlife Art, which included the work Morning light by William Thomas Wood. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 2,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,267.59). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Thomas Wood - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work British Snow Shadows, which sold at auction in March 2009 for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 8,761.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, Maritime Art, Sporting & Wildlife Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Morning light von William Thomas Wood zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 2.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.267,59) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von William Thomas Wood mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit British Snow Shadows beobachtet, die im März 2009 für GBP 8.125,00 (€ 8.761,59) versteigert wurde.
