This artwork by William T. Wiley achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in September 2021. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made in California auction, the work Tension On The Cable, 1972 sold for USD 14,025.00 (€ 12,114.54) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by William T. Wiley; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Ediface Complex, 1981 sold at auction in June 2020 with the realized price of USD 25,075.00 (€ 22,326.60).

Dieses Kunstwerk von William T. Wiley erzielte im September 2021 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made in California wurde die Arbeit Tension On The Cable, 1972 für USD 14.025,00 (€ 12.114,54) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von William T. Wiley; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Ediface Complex, 1981 im Juni 2020 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 25.075,00 (€ 22.326,60).
