Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2003 Christies in London held the auction British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures, which included the work Arran from Bute by William Stewart. The price achieved of GBP 352.50 (€ 510.64) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Admittedly, works by William Stewart have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work At the spinning wheel in October 2006 with an auction result of GBP 1,440.00 (€ 2,151.49).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Arran from Bute von William Stewart zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 352,50 (€ 510,64) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Stewart auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit At the spinning wheel im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.440,00 (€ 2.151,49).
