Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2002 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS, which included the work Tivoli by William Simson. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 446.50 (€ 709.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Simson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The death of Edward V and his brother Richard, Duke of York, in the Tower, 1483 Oh, thus, quoth Dighton, lay the gentle babes. Thus, thus, quoth Forrest, girdling one another. in March 2004 with an auction result of GBP 6,572.50 (€ 9,838.43).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The death of Edward V and his brother Richard, Duke of York, in the Tower, 1483 Oh, thus, quoth Dighton, lay the gentle babes. Thus, thus, quoth Forrest, girdling one another. im März 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.572,50 (€ 9.838,43).
