Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2002 a collector was able to acquire the work Autumn, Lyme, Connecticut by William S. Robinson for USD 2,868.00 (€ 2,887.64). This price was achieved in the auction CALIFORNIA, WESTERN AND AMERICAN PAINTINGS at Christies in Los Angeles and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by William S. Robinson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pasture in Old Lyme in February 2002 with an auction result of USD 10,575.00 (€ 12,214.14).
