Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Christies in New York held the auction Stewards of the West: The Knobloch Collection, which included the work View of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone by William Robinson Leigh. It changed hands for a price of USD 327,600.00 (€ 305,283.76) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Robinson Leigh - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Narrowing Circle, which sold at auction in November 2016 for USD 727,500.00 (€ 687,748.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Stewards of the West: The Knobloch Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit View of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone von William Robinson Leigh zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 327.600,00 (€ 305.283,76) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 250.000,00 – 350.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von William Robinson Leigh mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Narrowing Circle beobachtet, die im November 2016 für USD 727.500,00 (€ 687.748,16) versteigert wurde.
