Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2009 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of Alexander, Lord Falconer of Halkertoun (1595-1671), bust-length, in a black coat and a white ruff by William Robertson for GBP 400.00 (€ 431.34). This price was achieved in the auction The Country House Sale - Property of the 14th Earl of Kintore & The Collection of the Late Bernard Lyons, C.B.E. at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 500.00 – 800.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Robertson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of John Falconer, half-length, in an embroidered wastcoat and blue coat, a tricorn hat under his left arm and a staff in his right hand, in a feigned oval and Portrait of Margory Falconer, half-length, in a white dress and bonnet, a puppy in her in March 2009 with an auction result of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,

Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of John Falconer, half-length, in an embroidered wastcoat and blue coat, a tricorn hat under his left arm and a staff in his right hand, in a feigned oval and Portrait of Margory Falconer, half-length, in a white dress and bonnet, a puppy in her im März 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis v
