A top price for William Ratcliffe - as previously expected
In November 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Cottage Under Snow, Sweden by William Ratcliffe. The price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 17,503.23) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Cottage Under Snow, Sweden is the most expensive artwork by William Ratcliffe that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im November 2007 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cottage Under Snow, Sweden von William Ratcliffe zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 17.503,23) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Cottage Under Snow, Sweden das teuerste Kunstwerk von William Ratcliffe, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
