Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction European Art: Paintings & Sculpture, which included the work Rough Weather, West Bay, Dorset by William Pye. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,376.66). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Pye achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Firebird in December 2013 with an auction result of GBP 13,750.00 (€ 16,539.12).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion European Art: Paintings & Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Rough Weather, West Bay, Dorset von William Pye zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.376,66) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Pye erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Firebird im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.750,00 (€ 16.539,12).
