Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Four Watercolours Depicting Turkish Baths Including; Entrance To The Baths, The Scrub, Soap Suds, And Cooling And Coffee by William Prinsep was sold in the British Art on Paper auction at Christies in London in June 2001. The price achieved of GBP 5,287.50 (€ 8,783.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Prinsep - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Interior of the A-Ma (Ma Kok) temple, Macao, which sold at auction in September 2008 for GBP 18,750.00 (€ 23,707.48).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 5.287,50 (€ 8.783,59) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden.
