Auction result well in line with expectations

The work A fancy dress ball at Mrs Casement's, Calcutta by William Prinsep was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2000. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,880.00 (€ 3,145.81) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Prinsep have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Interior of the A-Ma (Ma Kok) temple, Macao in September 2008 with an auction result of GBP 18,750.00 (€ 23,707.48).

Die Arbeit A fancy dress ball at Mrs Casement's, Calcutta von William Prinsep kam im September 2000 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.880,00 (€ 3.145,81) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00.
