Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2002 a collector was able to acquire the work In the Backyard by William Morris Hunt for USD 896.25 (€ 914.91). This price was achieved in the auction THE HOUSE SALE at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Morris Hunt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Flight of Night in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 41,125.00 (€ 44,087.69).

Im Juli 2002 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit In the Backyard von William Morris Hunt für USD 896,25 (€ 914,91) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion THE HOUSE SALE bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Morris Hunt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Flight of Night im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 41.125,00 (€ 44.087,69).
