In March 2002 Christies in London held the auction British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures including Pictures, which included the work Grey morning, Duddingston Loch by William Marshall Brown. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,175.00 (€ 1,920.82), 47% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Marshall Brown achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Among Wild Roses in October 2002 with an auction result of GBP 26,290.00 (€ 41,586.15).

Im März 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures including Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Grey morning, Duddingston Loch von William Marshall Brown zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.175,00 (€ 1.920,82) und damit 47% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Marshall Brown erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Among Wild Roses im Oktober 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 26.290,00 (€ 41.586,15).
