Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Gathering Mussels by William Marshall Brown was sold in the The Scottish Sale auction at Bonhams in Edinburgh in October 2020. The price achieved of GBP 3,562.50 (€ 3,955.85) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Marshall Brown achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Among Wild Roses in October 2002 with an auction result of GBP 26,290.00 (€ 41,586.15).
