A top price for William Hay - as previously expected
In June 2006 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures, which included the work A Labour of Love; And Love'S Young Dream by William Hay. The price achieved of GBP 10,800.00 (€ 15,627.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, A Labour of Love; And Love'S Young Dream is the most expensive artwork by William Hay that we have observed at auctions so far.
