Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Unknown by William Hay was sold in the Portrait Miniatures, Objects of Vertu and Selected Silver auction at Christies in London in November 2006. The price achieved of GBP 720.00 (€ 1,069.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Hay achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Labour of Love; And Love'S Young Dream in June 2006 with an auction result of GBP 10,800.00 (€ 15,627.42).

Die Arbeit Unknown von William Hay wurde im November 2006 in der Auktion Portrait Miniatures, Objects of Vertu and Selected Silver bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 720,00 (€ 1.069,22) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben worden.
