Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Uncle Dick's Fish House by William Lester Stevens was auctioned at Christies in New York in July 2002. It changed hands for a price of USD 5,736.00 (€ 5,855.45) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Lester Stevens - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Logging, which sold at auction in November 2001 for USD 16,450.00 (€ 18,363.47).

Die Arbeit Uncle Dick's Fish House von William Lester Stevens kam im Juli 2002 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 5.736,00 (€ 5.855,45) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von William Lester Stevens mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Logging beobachtet, die im November 2001 für USD 16.450,00 (€ 18.363,47) versteigert wurde.
