This artwork by William Lester Stevens achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in August 2005. In the THE HOUSE SALE auction, the work A valley landscape with a farmhouse sold for USD 3,600.00 (€ 2,919.71) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by William Lester Stevens have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Logging in November 2001 with an auction result of USD 16,450.00 (€ 18,363.47).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von William Lester Stevens erzielte im August 2005 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion THE HOUSE SALE wurde die Arbeit A valley landscape with a farmhouse für USD 3.600,00 (€ 2.919,71) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Lester Stevens auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Logging im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 16.450,00 (€ 18.363,47).
