Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2007 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours and Original Book Illustrations, which included the work Trees on the water's edge by William Leighton Leitch. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 300.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 312.00 (€ 463.39). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Leighton Leitch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Villa of Lucullus At Miseneum in November 2005 with an auction result of GBP 48,000.00 (€ 70,518.07).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours and Original Book Illustrations durch, in der auch die Arbeit Trees on the water's edge von William Leighton Leitch zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 300,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 312,00 (€ 463,39) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Leighton Leitch erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Villa of Lucullus At Miseneum im November 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 48.000,00 (€ 70.518,07).
