Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by William Leighton Leitch could be acquired at Christies in London in January 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Lyndon Goodwin Harris Collection of Watercolours by Albert Goodwin, Joseph Edward Southall & Other Artists auction, the work Radcliffe Camera, Oxford changed hands for GBP 780.00 (€ 1,176.84) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Leighton Leitch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Villa of Lucullus At Miseneum in November 2005 with an auction result of GBP 48,000.00 (€ 70,518.07).
