Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In August 2001 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH & CONTINENTAL PICTURES, which included the work Highland cattle grazing at the water's edge by William Langley. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 822.50 (€ 1,312.92). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Langley - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Highland cattle watering in a mountainous landscape, which sold at auction in September 2001 for GBP 1,880.00 (€ 3,035.40).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im August 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH & CONTINENTAL PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Highland cattle grazing at the water's edge von William Langley zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 822,50 (€ 1.312,92) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von William Langley mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Highland cattle watering in a mountainous landscape beobachtet, die im September 2001 für GBP 1.880,00 (€ 3.035,40) versteigert wurde.
