Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cattle watering, sunset; and Cattle grazing by William Langley was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2005. The price achieved of GBP 420.00 (€ 619.37) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Admittedly, works by William Langley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Highland cattle watering in a mountainous landscape in September 2001 with an auction result of GBP 1,880.00 (€ 3,035.40).
