Auction result misses estimated price range
In August 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work Cattle Watering In A Mountainous Landscape, Sunset by William Langley for GBP 179.25 (€ 265.29). This price was achieved in the auction British and Continental Pictures at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Langley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Highland cattle watering in a mountainous landscape in September 2001 with an auction result of GBP 1,880.00 (€ 3,035.40).
