Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2001 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH & VICTORIAN PICTURES, which included the work Across The Lake; And The River Valley by William Langley. The price achieved of GBP 528.75 (€ 878.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Langley - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Highland cattle watering in a mountainous landscape, which sold at auction in September 2001 for GBP 1,880.00 (€ 3,035.40).

Im Juni 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH & VICTORIAN PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Across The Lake; And The River Valley von William Langley zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 528,75 (€ 878,36) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von William Langley mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Highland cattle watering in a mountainous landscape beobachtet, die im September 2001 für GBP 1.880,00 (€ 3.035,40) versteigert wurde.
