Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Head (Orange) by William Kentridge was sold in the Prints and Multiples auction at Bonhams in London in December this year. The price achieved of GBP 28,160.00 (€ 32,439.24) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Kentridge achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Procession in March 2013 with an auction result of USD 1,538,500.00 (€ 1,200,452.56).
