Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2005 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Paintings, which included the work The start of the day by William Kay Blacklock. The price achieved of GBP 720.00 (€ 1,062.95) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Kay Blacklock achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Summer in December 2011 with an auction result of GBP 32,450.00 (€ 38,863.46).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The start of the day von William Kay Blacklock zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 720,00 (€ 1.062,95) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 600,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Kay Blacklock erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Summer im Dezember 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 32.450,00 (€ 38.863,46).
