Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Souhegan River (New Ipswich, New Hampshire) by William Jurian Kaula for USD 11,250.00 (€ 7,989.49). This price was achieved in the auction American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Jurian Kaula - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Millstream, Ipswich, New Hampshire, which sold at auction in September 2006 for USD 38,400.00 (€ 30,267.20).
