In the Maritime Art auction, the work The Northern Whale Fishery: The Ship Harmony Of Hull And Other Ice-Bound Whalers, Hunting Seals, Narwhals And Whales On The Davis Straits Whaling Ground Off Greenland changed hands for GBP 25,000.00 (€ 31,236.30) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Other works by William John Huggins have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in April 2011 by the work The Opium Ships At Lintin, China, 1824 at GBP 37,250.00 (€ 41,949.92).
