A top price for William John Huggins - as previously expected
In April 2011 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & Early British Paintings, which included the work The Opium Ships At Lintin, China, 1824 by William John Huggins. The price achieved of GBP 37,250.00 (€ 41,949.92) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The Opium Ships At Lintin, China, 1824 is the most expensive artwork by William John Huggins that we have observed at auctions so far.
