A top price for William James Webb - as previously expected
In June 2010 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & British Impressionist Pictures Including Drawings & Watercolours, which included the work Two lambs in a barn by William James Webb. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 31,250.00 (€ 38,002.91) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Two lambs in a barn is the most expensive artwork by William James Webb that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Juni 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Pictures Including Drawings & Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two lambs in a barn von William James Webb zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 31.250,00 (€ 38.002,91) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Two lambs in a barn das teuerste Kunstwerk von William James Webb, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
