Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2005 a collector was able to acquire the work The Arrival of the Caravan by William James Webb for USD 36,000.00 (€ 30,012.51). This price was achieved in the auction Orientalist Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by William James Webb have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in June 2010 by the work Two lambs in a barn at GBP 31,250.00 (€ 38,002.91).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2005 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Arrival of the Caravan von William James Webb für USD 36.000,00 (€ 30.012,51) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Orientalist Art bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von William James Webb wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Juni 2010 die Arbeit Two lambs in a barn mit GBP 31.250,00 (€ 38.002,91).
