Auction result misses estimated price range
In March last year a collector was able to acquire the work Sketch of trees at Stapleton, Bristol by William James Müller for GBP 378.00 (€ 448.16). This price was achieved in the auction Dramas of Light and Land: The Martyn Gregory Collection of British Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William James Müller achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Florence, A View Of The City And The River Arno From San Miniato in July 2017 with an auction result of GBP 33,750.00 (€ 37,659.82).
