This artwork by William Huggins achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2012. In the Sporting and Wildlife Art auction, the work Head of a tiger sold for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 10,060.68) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Huggins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Two leopards in January 2011 with an auction result of USD 458,500.00 (€ 334,305.50).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von William Huggins erzielte im Juni 2012 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Sporting and Wildlife Art wurde die Arbeit Head of a tiger für GBP 8.125,00 (€ 10.060,68) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Huggins erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Two leopards im Januar 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 458.500,00 (€ 334.305,50).
