Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, which included the work The Poet'S Vision, Canto I, Laon And Cythna by William Huggins. The price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,614.53) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Huggins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Two leopards in January 2011 with an auction result of USD 458,500.00 (€ 334,305.50).
