Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2010 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Mahmoud by William Hounsom Byles. The price achieved of GBP 525.00 (€ 589.43) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Hounsom Byles achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Gold Cup, 1923; The 2000 Guineas Stakes, 1923; The 141st renewal of the Oakes Stakes, 1923; The Lincolnshire Handicap, 1923; and The Kempton Park Great Jubilee Handicap, 1923 in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 7,050.00 (€ 10,904.75).

Im März 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mahmoud von William Hounsom Byles zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 525,00 (€ 589,43) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Hounsom Byles erzielen.
