The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,188.00 (€ 1,465.13), 49% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Henry Walker - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work "A Mothers' Meeting", which sold at auction in December 2012 for GBP 2,500.00 (€ 3,083.19).
