In November this year a collector was able to acquire the work Laramie Peak, Wyoming, Descending LaBonte Hill, August 12, 1866 sight 6 1/2 x 9 1/2 in. framed 15 1/2 x 17 1/2 in. by William Henry Jackson for USD 537.60 (€ 492.85). This price was achieved in the auction California and Western Art Online at Bonhams in Los Angeles and was even below the estimate range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Henry Jackson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Royal Gorge--Grand Cañon Of The Arkansas' in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 49,000.00 (€ 31,474.82).
