Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by William Henry Hunt could be acquired at Sothebys in London in July 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master & British Works on Paper auction, the work The Irish Orange Seller changed hands for GBP 2,375.00 (€ 2,607.59) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Henry Hunt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Eavesdropper in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 26,290.00 (€ 37,739.68).
