Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by William Henry Hunt could be acquired at Christies in London in May 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Scone Palace and Blairquhan The Selected Contents of Two Great Scottish Houses auction, the work Head study of a gentleman, traditionally identified as the artist's uncle changed hands for GBP 60.00 (€ 88.29) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Henry Hunt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Eavesdropper in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 26,290.00 (€ 37,739.68).
In der Auktion Scone Palace and Blairquhan The Selected Contents of Two Great Scottish Houses wechselte die Arbeit Head study of a gentleman, traditionally identified as the artist's uncle für GBP 60,00 (€ 88,29) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00.
