In the A Fine Line: Master Works on Paper from Five Centuries auction, the work An oyster shell and an onion sold for GBP 23,940.00 (€ 28,074.61) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by William Henry Hunt; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Eavesdropper sold at auction in November 2003 with the realized price of GBP 26,290.00 (€ 37,739.68).
