In November 2010 Christies in London held the auction Victorian and British Impressionist Pictures, which included the work The Culprit who stole the spoon; and Good as new by William Hemsley. The result of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,792.50) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Hemsley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sunday Morning in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 12,925.00 (€ 20,487.72).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im November 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian and British Impressionist Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Culprit who stole the spoon; and Good as new von William Hemsley zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.500,00 (€ 1.792,50) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Hemsley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sunday Morning im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.925,00 (€ 20.487,72).
