Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Begging his bread by William Hemsley was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2008. The price achieved of GBP 2,375.00 (€ 2,983.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Hemsley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sunday Morning in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 12,925.00 (€ 20,487.72).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.375,00 (€ 2.983,59) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Hemsley auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sunday Morning im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.925,00 (€ 20.487,72).
