In the The Art of Illustration - From the Collection of Michael Winner auction, the work “The Waves Tossing Surf In The Moonbeam” (From ‘The Truants’) sold for GBP 875.00 (€ 1,079.12) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Heath Robinson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sane Economy of Space at a Wedding Reception in a Small Flat in April 2011 with an auction result of USD 17,500.00 (€ 11,807.57).

Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Heath Robinson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sane Economy of Space at a Wedding Reception in a Small Flat im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 17.500,00 (€ 11.807,57).
