Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2012 Sothebys in London held the auction The Art of Illustration - From the Collection of Michael Winner, which included the work The Egg And Spoon Race by William Heath Robinson. It changed hands for a price of GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,391.51) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Heath Robinson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sane Economy of Space at a Wedding Reception in a Small Flat, which sold at auction in April 2011 for USD 17,500.00 (€ 11,807.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2012 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Art of Illustration - From the Collection of Michael Winner durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Egg And Spoon Race von William Heath Robinson zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.391,51) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von William Heath Robinson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sane Economy of Space at a Wedding Reception in a Small Flat beobachtet, die im April 2011 für USD 17.500,00 (€ 11.807,57) versteigert wurde.
