Auction result well in line with expectations
The work "Splashing Happily In The Water" by William Heath Robinson was sold in the The Art of Illustration - From the Collection of Michael Winner auction at Sothebys in London in December 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,800.00 – 2,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,312.40) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by William Heath Robinson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sane Economy of Space at a Wedding Reception in a Small Flat in April 2011 with an auction result of USD 17,500.00 (€ 11,807.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit "Splashing Happily In The Water" von William Heath Robinson wurde im Dezember 2012 in der Auktion The Art of Illustration - From the Collection of Michael Winner bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.800,00 – 2.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.312,40) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
