Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2012 Sothebys in London held the auction The Art of Illustration - From the Collection of Michael Winner, which included the work “Poor Little Lucy By Some Mischance, Lost Her Shoe” (From ‘The Lost Shoe’) by William Heath Robinson. The price achieved of GBP 375.00 (€ 462.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Heath Robinson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sane Economy of Space at a Wedding Reception in a Small Flat in April 2011 with an auction result of USD 17,500.00 (€ 11,807.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2012 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Art of Illustration - From the Collection of Michael Winner durch, in der auch die Arbeit “Poor Little Lucy By Some Mischance, Lost Her Shoe” (From ‘The Lost Shoe’) von William Heath Robinson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 375,00 (€ 462,48) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Heath Robinson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sane Economy of Space at a Wedding Reception in a Small Flat im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 17.500,00 (€ 11.807,57).
