Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2012 Sothebys in London held the auction The Art of Illustration - From the Collection of Michael Winner, which included the work "Now I Will Not Deliver His Letter" by William Heath Robinson. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,250.00 (€ 4,008.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Heath Robinson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sane Economy of Space at a Wedding Reception in a Small Flat, which sold at auction in April 2011 for USD 17,500.00 (€ 11,807.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2012 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Art of Illustration - From the Collection of Michael Winner durch, in der auch die Arbeit "Now I Will Not Deliver His Letter" von William Heath Robinson zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.250,00 (€ 4.008,15) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von William Heath Robinson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sane Economy of Space at a Wedding Reception in a Small Flat beobachtet, die im April 2011 für USD 17.500,00 (€ 11.807,57) versteigert wurde.
