Auction result well in line with expectations
The work “A Gurgle, A Gasp, And Down It Goes” (From ‘Poor Henry’) by William Heath Robinson was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2012. The price achieved of GBP 375.00 (€ 462.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Heath Robinson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sane Economy of Space at a Wedding Reception in a Small Flat in April 2011 with an auction result of USD 17,500.00 (€ 11,807.57).
