Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2000 Christies in London held the auction British Art on Paper, which included the work The Croquet Game (illustrated); The Wedding Reception; The Christening; The Goodnight Kiss (illustrated); and Moment Together by William Gale. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 11,162.50 (€ 18,244.67) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Gale achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Die Klagemauer in Jerusalem. 1863. in March 2009 with an auction result of CHF 318,000.00 (€ 210,449.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion British Art on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Croquet Game (illustrated); The Wedding Reception; The Christening; The Goodnight Kiss (illustrated); and Moment Together von William Gale zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 11.162,50 (€ 18.244,67) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Gale erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Die Klagemauer in Jerusalem. 1863. im März 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 318.000,00 (€ 210.449,29).
